Reader,
You should probably be prepared for this. I have made you a motivational post to get your ego going and your confidence boosting. I am not liable for you gaining or losing anything from this post.
Have you ever just thought, "Man, my life sucks. It sucks big red baboon butt." Okay, yeah, maybe you haven't. But you get my drift. You're someone who tends to be pessimistic about life. (Maybe not, BUT! This is what my blog is about...)
Anyway, so you have this life you've been given, right? Whether you think it's from a god, science, or aliens, you've been granted this gift (or curse, whatever). What do you do with it? What have you been doing with it? I mean, do you seriously sit back and think about all of the elements that make up who you are and what your time in this world has become? Just ponder on it a bit. Try to notice certain points about yourself. Start with the basics if it's difficult! Like favorite colour (oh, please say I'm not the only one who likes pink...). Be careful when you do this. Because once you dive deeper and deeper into your mind, you may not like what you find. Or you may love it. I want you to just sit down in a comfortable place and find out who exactly you are.Take into account the people you have impacted over the years. This also means reliving bad experiences with the people you have hurt. Did you learn from your mistakes? Have you gained life long knowledge? You may find new insight!
After you do this reflecting, you may realize a few things. You could understand that your life is actually not as bad as you think. Even with all of the terrible things going on with the world and in your own personal life. Hell, I always make a big deal about little things. And I have the worst guilt in the WORLD! It's a bit ridiculous. I suppose crying over spilled milk. I know I do. And to think, I wasn't able to tell myself that for a long time. Just as I wasn't able to admit that I'm jealous, lazy, a liar, and all in all a horrible person. Ha, not really. But I can have habits that aren't all that great. That's how we all are. Don't worry! It's okay to feel sad sometimes. I find it great to cry. What a release! But don't cry every day over these little things that really won't matter. Don't linger on something that will pass in time. And these terrible things you regret? You won't forget them. But try to lock it away in a chest deep in your mind. It'll always be there, but it won't control you. C'mon, guys! You've got a life to live. I don't care how pointless you think it may be! This will always be your greatest adventure! Living a full, happy life however you see fit. It's difficult and it's trying, but we'll get through it. Don't believe me? Try harder. Try even when you feel you can't. Try when the lights go out and you're blind--you've got ears. You've got your spirit that will guide you through the worst times. That drive that keeps you alive.
So I want you to laugh. I want you to love. No matter who you are or where you're from. Even if I don't really like you! And if you can't find something worth living for...keep searching. You have your whole life ahead of you. And damn, is it gonna be great. There is nothing to be gained from a life of sorrow and regret. An interesting thought, in its own way. (In other words, just watch Doctor Who. Trust me--you'll get a lot of personal positive feedback).
Now, then, this is the part where we all share a group hug after your glorious epiphany! No? Oh, yes. I understand, Reader. I guess we aren't that close in our relationship yet. *cough cough*

I’m not sure we can ever figure out exactly who we are. It’s like trying to figure out that question of what you’re going to do in a life or death situation. If you’re in a situation where somebody’s gotta die (you or an enemy), who are you going to choose? We’d all like to jump up and boldly proclaim, “I’d sacrifice myself!” But would we actually do it when the time comes? We won’t know until we’re in that moment. We could prepare and train ourselves for that moment so we can make that decision.
ReplyDeleteI’ve tried to figure out myself quite a few times, and I usually discover something but never anything truly deep. I used to try to figure myself out compared to other people. Nothing good came from that. When judging yourself, you stand alone. You are who you are because of who you are…that doesn’t make much sense, does it? You’ve been put in a unique situation—you not someone else because only you were meant to take that path. So, the decisions you make have to be your own, and they define who you are.
